I believe it doesn't matter who people's role models are and who they look up to: They have specific reasons why they admire these people so much. What is it of our business to intrude into that kind of thing? Just let them look up to who they admire.
I don't think it's a matter of spending time with loved ones or not, regardless, that wouldn't make them change their minds. Does that mean hinting that you want them to admire you as role model just because you spend more time with them? Nope, that's lame.
As said, even adults and the elderly will have role models, quality time won't stop them from admiring a certain person.
