Controversial Forums exists because everyone has an opinion and everyone should be able to express that opinion.
In the United States citizens experience Freedom of Speech. This freedom allows them to express their opinions freely. Interestingly not everyone applauds the idea of a free expression of ideas and there have been numerous cases of stifled speech.
Controversy is often associated with the danger of offense. Being offended by the opinion of others may be common, but at Controversial Forums we strive to ensure a safe environment to explore even the hottest of topics.
It is our belief that even a minority opinion can be expressed when there is trust in the directive that every opinion matters.
You will find discussions, debates and information at Controversial Forums. You will likely read findings that are both for and against an opinion based on the interpretation of the data. This is to be expected, this is part of the interchange that IS dialogue.
For too long there have been prime directives in media and some social circles that certain issues were taboo or that having a dissenting viewpoint was not acceptable.
 The reason we believe Controversial Forums is a powerful tool for online discussion is that there can be a certain amount of personal anonymity in using our forum. Some who might otherwise avoid face-to-face debate may find the task much easier and appreciated in an online environment.
