Violence on Television and Video Games

Violence on Television The growth of violence on television, movies and gaming devices has grown considerably over the years. Due to major technological advances the violent episodes are incredibly realistic.

Some argue that when viewing violence on television an individual moves from repulsion for the violence and sympathy for an individual character to a desensitized state that views the violence as a simply function of story telling that really has no bearing on real life.

There are those that consider violence a prime component in modern day storytelling.

Reports indicate many actors look for parts where they can play someone who has died as a result of a violent act.

Some attribute school shootings in part to violence on television, movies and specifically video games. The belief is that it is easy to take a life when that is the object of many video games young people play for hours at a time.
