Censorship

Censorship Censorship would seem the nemesis of free speech. The role of free expression seems to be lost in the roar of, "Thou shalt not…"

What drives censorship? What is the motive behind it?

In many cases the idea for censorship flourishes when someone who generally cares deeply about their family, neighborhood and country observe something they determine to be a red flag.

Their immediate concern is for the welfare of the individual and not on an education program dealing with the observable problem. The result, however, is often a split in philosophy as one side works to remove the problem without explaining why it is a problem.

Censorship is often cultivated in misunderstanding and fear. This one-two punch makes it difficult to return to a more objective conversation about the issue.

Censorship is an argument with at least two glaring sides. Is it a debate you have an opinion on?
